PDF Killigrew of the Royal Navy (The Kit Killigrew Naval Adventures Book 1) with FREE PDF EDITION!

This was a mostly-fun read. Entertaining, but not what I hoped for. I was hoping for a serious historical sailing fiction book about a period (1840's) not often touched by sailing writers. The author has chosen a style of writing very similar to Louis Lamour's 1940's South Sea books. Kind of comic-book action (Bif! Pow! Bam!) action sequences. Almost no sailing authenticity (the naval sequences were kind of an afterthought, and appeared to show little real seafaring knowledge). The story works, even if the main character's heroism is overplayed. I don't think I'll get the next book in the series, not because it is a bad read, but because I don't care for the comic-book hero style.
